What our physiotherapy covers

Strength and balance

Programs to build strength, steadiness and confidence on your feet.

Falls prevention

Practical steps to reduce your risk of falling and to move safely at home.

Walking and mobility

Help to move more easily, from first steps to longer distances.

Recovery and pain

Support after injury or surgery, and for ongoing pain and stiffness.

How treatment works

Exercise therapy

A program built around your body, your goals and the space you have at home. Exercises are chosen to build strength, steadiness and endurance, then updated as you improve.

Hydrotherapy

One-on-one sessions in a local pool. The water supports your body weight, so movement can feel easier and gentler on sore joints while you build strength and confidence.

Hands-on treatment

Manual therapy, such as soft tissue work and joint mobilisation, delivered where you’re comfortable. It helps ease pain and stiffness so you can move more freely.

Reports and equipment advice

Clear written reports for plan reviews, case managers and other providers, plus advice on mobility aids and equipment that suit the way you live.

Where sessions happen

At home, a local gym, a park or a leisure centre, wherever suits your goals. Telehealth is also available when an in-person visit isn’t needed.

Direct contact

You deal with your physiotherapist every time you get in touch, not a front desk. Questions get answered quickly and your plan stays consistent.

Assistive technology

The right equipment can make daily life safer and more independent. I help you work out what you need, try it before you commit, and get it set up properly.

  • Assessment of your mobility, posture, home and goals to identify suitable equipment
  • Equipment trials, so you can see how a device works in your own home and community
  • Working with suppliers to arrange trials, quotes and delivery
  • Standing frames and mobility aids, such as walking frames, rollators and walking sticks
  • Manual and powered wheelchairs, including fitting and set-up
  • Training for you, your family and support workers in safe use
  • Written reports and recommendations to support funding requests
  • Reviews as your needs change, with adjustments or replacements when needed

Funding options

Physiotherapy can be funded in several ways:

  • NDIS (plan managed, self managed or agency managed)
  • Support at Home
  • Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA)
  • Transport Accident Commission (TAC)
  • Private health insurance
  • Private payment

Recovering from a hip or knee replacement, or other orthopaedic surgery? Some private health insurers fund rehabilitation at home, so you can recover in your own space. Check your policy or ask your insurer.

How it works

  1. Get in touch

Send an enquiry or referral with a few details about what you need and how you are funded.

  2. First visit: understanding your needs

We meet you at home or in the community for a full discussion about your challenges, your strengths, and what you would like to achieve from physiotherapy.

  3. Comprehensive assessment

From there we assess your mobility, balance, walking (gait), strength and joint movement. We also look at everyday tasks such as getting up from a chair or moving around your home. This shows where you are now and what we are working towards.

  4. Your plan

We agree on clear, measurable goals and an exercise program that fits your routine and your home.

  5. Sessions and reviews

We track your progress against your starting point, adjust the plan as you go, and provide reports when you need them.

About Andy

Andy, physiotherapist at Whitehall Physiotherapy

Senior Physiotherapist and founder

I’m a senior physiotherapist with over 13 years of clinical experience, including about 6 years working in NDIS funded community services.

I’m originally from Scotland and have lived and worked in Melbourne for around 9 years. My experience includes leading a team of clinicians and providing physiotherapy in aged care settings.

I take a coaching approach: listen first, explain clearly, then build the plan together. Whitehall Physiotherapy gives people consistent, down to earth physio in the place they live.
